Years at WONC: 2013-2015
Despite only spending two years at WONC, Chris’ time at the station was well-used, hosting multiple on-air shows and gaining experience in news reporting. After graduation, he took his talents to NCTV and worked as a production specialist, sports producer, news editor, internship coordinator and as the producer of Authors Revealed.
In 2019, Chris moved to Arizona to begin his own video news business, East Valley Weekly. He also began working as a photojournalist for the Ak Chin Indian Community’s Ak Chin Runner newspaper.
In July of 2020, Chris joined the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community’s O’odham Action News newspaper as a reporter, where he won the 2021 NAJA award for best Coverage of Native America and the 2022 azcentral award for Best Reporter in the East Valley.
